It is your typical tailor made, private purchase officers m/39 Summer Hat. Unlike most of them, it is made out of same light weight grey cotton fabric as m/36 Summer Blouses. The branch colour is of the artillery, as Saurio was transferred from the Field Artillery in to the Assault Gun Battalion. Last picture in the series shows the same hat in use by Saurio in July 1944. This hat belongs to the collection of Parola Armour Museum. |
