Branch: Artillery

Material: High quality wool

Manufacturer: Unknown, tailor made

Manufacturing year: Unknown

Markings: No markings

This m/39 Summer Hat is a fine example of a high quality wartime hat. The wool is excellent and the hat has been hardly used, there is only minor wear and staining. Chinstrap has been "repaired" at some point and might be post war replacement. Sweatband is simple pigskin sweatband, worn flesh side out. The liner isa fairly simple rough cotton liner, which is not too common with these officer hats. There is a faint green remnant off what might have been a stamp, but is illegible now.

No history with this hat, but as it is from the Armour Museum collection, this has most likely been worn by an officer of the Assault Gun Battalion, as many officers were transferred from the Field Artillery to the battalion.

This hat belongs to the collection of Parola Armour Museum.
