This m/27 Fur Hat was used by Kapteeni Erik Salvén, the reconnaissance officer of Kenraalimajuri Ruben Lagus. It is probably your average issue hat from the period he was a professional soldier before the war. The cockade is not original to the hat.F The hat itself has nothing particularly special about it. It made out of rough brown-green wool, with a greybown liner. The sheep fur has been dyed brownish at some point, but has lost much of the dye. There's quite significant damage to the hats construction and at some point it has had some of the damage fixed with sewing some of the damaged spots. The bill is most damaged and the painted cardboard insert can be clearly seen. |
