This m/36 hat is a mid-war austerity type hat. The material is mixed wool and processed fibers from rags, sweatband made out of burlap. It's a rough hat, typical mass production hat of the period. The liner is typical cotton liner. The hat has a Armour Division insignia, the "Lagus Arrows" on the left side. It is a printed variant of this insignia. The pattern and construction of the hat are also your average Armeijan Pukimo (AP) / Valtion Pukutehtaat (VPu).

While the hat itself is a rough, mass produced hat the history of it is known. This hat was used by Kapteeni Erik Salvén, the reconnaissance officer of Kenraalimajuri Ruben Lagus. It was not unusual for officers to acquire hats intended for enlisted men for field use, instead of using more expensive tailored hats.

This hat belongs to the collection of Parola Armour Museum.
